It is an honor, for me and for all the members of the committees, to be able to receive you in person at this 38th Congress of Hospital Engineering and 9th IFHE-EU Congress, to welcome you, and to thank you for having come to Asturias to take a little "Breathe". I would like to thank you as well for the extraordinary participation of communicators, hospitals, companies and professionals .... You have exceeded all expectations, setting new records.
The scientific content has been specially designed by the committee, and will include new developments and innovations of all kinds in the engineering, architecture, technology and organization’s fields. Round tables with topics such as 3D Printing, Big Data, innovation, humanization, management and equipment will present the latest developments while others on ventilation, medical gases, electromedical equipment and new architectural projects will show all the adjustments that COVID has included in our work.
Moreover, we will have the opportunity, in the Engineering in Action Awards: Response to the pandemic, to honor the teams of professionals who have brought out the best of themselves to implement extraordinary and fast solutions and infrastructures so that our healthcare colleagues could face the Pandemic. Let’s also give a big hand, in the Engineering in Action Awards: Climate Emergency, to the teams that have managed to reduce energy consumption and decarbonize a little more our healthcare infrastructures.
We have finally arrived at our destination, the road has been difficult and tortuous, a pandemic and a number of health protection measures have taken us apart us from the initial plans. But finally we can see each other. It is a pleasure to receive so many engineering and architecture professionals, company directors, managers and all the companies. Welcome to Gijón!!!
